THE 2016 WINTER WORKOUT was a success!!!

Thank you all so very much for coming out to Baseball City 

and getting ready for the spring season.  Close to 40 players came to Baseball City to participate in the Winter Workout.  This venue is close and they have softball pitching machines ready to go.  Visit them at and tell them you heard it from WHASL.  

Thank you to all of the coaches that came out to help get the players ready for the spring season!  The workout would not have been a success without you. 

This year we had an incredible number of high school players that came out week after week to help coach and mentor the younger players.  The younger players really enjoyed having JV and Varsity players showing them how to field, bat, have good sportsmanship and have fun playing softball.   It was a great experience for everyone.  

A special thanks to all of the players from Hall High School, Wethersfield High School and Northwest Catholic who helped out week after week. THANK YOU! Good luck this spring season. 

Now we start planning for spring season and the summer softball season.  Summer registration for WHASL- STORM softball will open in April 2016.  

Good luck to all who are playing in the West Hartford Girls Softball League this spring!  Hope to see you all in the summer!

The above picture is from our first winter workouts held in 2010.  Marcus Apter and his father spoke to our group about Challenger Softball.  The girls are wearing wrist bands we bought to support Marcus' effort to raise money for the LL Miracle Baseball Field. 

Our seventh, and no doubt best winter workouts will be starting January 2016.  Last year there were 40+ girls in the gym on Sunday afternoon/evening.  The younger girls play in the first session, with the older girls in session two.
